Prof Andrew Chibuzo Nwaka
Prof. Andrew Chibuzo Nwaka is a Professor of Medical and Nutritional Biochemistry at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Anambra State. He teaches and supervises both undergraduate and postgraduate students in the Biochemistry Department.
His research focuses on the use of phytochemicals and dietary strategies in the treatment and management of diseases. He has supervised over 30 postgraduate students and is currently supervising 6 Ph.D. candidates.
- Education: Ph.D. in Medical Biochemistry, University of Nigeria, Nsukka (2011).
- Academic roles: Former Associate Dean, Faculty of Natural Sciences, COOU; Former Head, Biochemistry Department, COOU.
- Service: External examiner for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at several Nigerian universities and adhoc member for NUC accreditation exercises for Biochemistry programmes.
- Editorial work: Editor-in-Chief, Tropical Journal of Applied Natural Sciences (TJANS).
- Publications & memberships: Over 50 publications in reputable journals; member of the Nigeria Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
Prof. Nwaka is happily married with children.
